July 31, 2017 – Representative Suzan DelBene (D-WA) has introduced H.R. 3534: To make the Controlled Substances Act inapplicable with respect to marijuana in states that have legalized marijuana and have in effect a statewide regulatory regime to protect certain Federal interests, and for other purposes.

The proposed legislation has three cosponsors, David Cicilline (D-RI), Steve Cohen (D-TN) and Adam Smith (D-WA), and is assigned to the House Energy and Commerce, as well as the House Judiciary committees.
